Helping you through the account setup process

Welcome to Clockwork Universe. If you're reading this, you may be embarking on your journey with us. We hope you enjoy your stay, and please know that our team is here to help you reach your goals with us at every turn. This guide offers details on how to sign up for a Clockwork Universe account and access the platform.

🚧 Please Note: at this time, only Founder Users may sign up for Clockwork Universe accounts. If you are an Investor, Fund Manager, or any other user type that would look to use Clockwork Universe to manage/monitor your private investment portfolio(s), please reach out to our team at contact@clockwork.app, and we'll be happy to walk you through the account setup.


Signing Up via the Website – Founder Users

To sign up for an account, first head on over to https://www.clockwork.app.

Click on the "Sign Up" or "Try It for Free" buttons on the main landing page.

A prompt window will ask you to select the type of account you would like to create:

  • Founder – You represent a company looking to manage communications with your investors and stakeholders.

  • Investor – You represent a group or individual looking to organize your private investment activities & manage communications about your investments.

  • Other – You are an intermediary, advisor, or other group or individual involved in a private investment or investment portfolio.

For this section of the guide, select the Founder option, as highlighted below.

The app will take you through an account setup wizard, including five steps.

Step 1 – Your Email Address

Step 1 welcomes you and asks you to provide your email address. If you have a Google account, you may sign up with google directly using the button. Otherwise, add your email address in the space provided.

After clicking Let's Get Started!, you'll be asked to verify your email before returning to the account setup process. The account verification email will come from a <no-reply@mail.cwuniverse.app> address. Be sure to check your spam folder. The email will appear as follows:

Click the "Confirm My Email" button or copy and paste the URL provided in your message into your browser to complete the verification process. You will then be greeted by the following page confirming your verification:

Step 2 – Set Your Password

Step 2 will ask for you to provide a strong password. Input a password you desire and repeat the entry to confirm your chosen password. Please note that this step is unnecessary for those who signed up via Google.

Step 3 – About You

Fill out the basic details about you: first and last name, your role at the company, and the LinkedIn profile link. You can also select whether you are the Founder or not of the business you're signing up to represent, as shown below:

Step 4 – About Your Company

Step 4 is broken into two sub-steps and asks for details about your company. Clockwork Universe will try to pull information from LinkedIn / the internet based upon the domain address of your email. You will be asked to fill in / edit or confirm details such as the d/b/a ("doing business as") name, the legal entity name, the company's website, and the logo.

🚧 Please Note: at this time, if the company doesn't have a website, you will be unable to complete the automated setup process. We'll be adding functionality soon to support you with setting that profile up regardless. For now, please contact one of our team members (contact@clockwork.app), and we'll help you.

When finished, click Next, and the next page will ask for optional company information. The more information provided at this step means your profile will be complete by entering Clockwork Universe. However, you can always skip this step and update this information later, as shown below.

Step 5 – Finish

Your account setup process is now complete. On this screen, you'll see your unique Group Handle, which is your group's in-app @identifier that other Clockwork Universe users can use to share information with you. You can always update your group handle later in your group settings inside the application.

Clicking OK, Let's Start will bring you into Clockwork Universe, where you'll see in-app onboarding materials to help you come up to speed on how to make the most of our features.

Additional Verification Needed

If your account requires additional verification, a member of our team will verify or contact you within 24-48 hours to ensure you're all set. If you haven't heard from us, please contact contact@clockwork.app or use the Intercom chatbot in the bottom righthand corner, and someone will assist you right away.

Once verified, you'll receive a verification email prompting you to return and sign in to Clockwork Universe, as shown below:


Signing Up via the Website – Investor / Fund Manager / Other Users

To sign up for an account, first head on over to https://www.clockwork.app.

Click on the "Sign Up" or "Try It for Free" buttons on the main landing page.

A prompt window will ask you to select the type of account you would like to create:

  • Founder – You represent a company looking to manage communications with your investors and stakeholders

  • Investor – You represent a group or individual looking to organize your private investment activities & manage communications about your investments

  • Other – You are an intermediary, advisor, or other group or individual involved in private investment or investment portfolio

For this section of the guide, select the Investor or Other option, as highlighted below.

As shown below, a brief Typeform will ask you questions about yourself.
