Xero has two types of reports generated in their product. The newer Report 2.0 is what most people are familiar with, and the older legacy report layouts.

Unfortunately, Xero has yet to make the new Report 2.0 available via the Developer API. Therefore, Universe cannot generate a customized Balance Sheet or Profit and Loss.

You can, however, make a custom layout for the legacy report type. We recommend reading Customizing the report layout for older style reports and making the newly created layout the default.

By making your new layout the default and ensuring that the box below (highlighted in red) is not selected, Universe will generate the Update using the customizations you made to the accounting report.

Once again, this only applies to older style Xero reports. Once Xero makes the new Report 2.0 available, we will integrate them into Universe.
