File distribution and organization are central features of Clockwork Universe. This guide will take you through the step-by-step process of uploading and organizing documents in the most efficient way.
How to upload a file
Navigate to the Files tab located at the bottom of the left-hand menu. This action will display all the files uploaded by you or shared with you by other groups within the platform. The Files tab also shows documents uploaded by other members of your group, provided they have enabled the group ownership option. The Files tab is the ideal location for making large document uploads that you can later include in other updates.
Click the Celeste button located in the bottom right corner; this will open a pop-up window with the File Upload option. Click this option to browse for a file on your computer.
Additionally, you can simply drag and drop files directly onto this page to upload them, eliminating the need to browse your local file manager, as shown below.
All new files will be uploaded with a purple dot next to the file name, indicating that they are Unreconciled. This means these files have not been included in any updates thus far. When adding files to an update, filtering by Unreconciled files allows you to quickly identify new files to include as attachments.
Filtering by 'Unreconciled' files in the Files tab allows you to see the files that have not yet been included in an update, giving you a quick idea of which files need to be shared or published to a company profile.
Adding files from the Update Builder
Although you can upload many files through the 'Files' tab, you can also upload files directly to the update builder.
To upload a file directly from the update builder, you can simply drag and drop your files into the section at the bottom of the page, as shown below.
Alternatiely, click on the Browse Files button. This option will allow you to browse through existing files in your group, as well as upload directly from your computer's file manager, as shown below.
Here, you can use the Unreconciled Files filter to see only your unreconciled files, filter by name or type of document, or simply click on Browse my computer to upload a local file.
